1.)What is electrical substation ?

 ANS:- Electrical substation is a combination of electrical equipments which step up or step down voltage acording to requirements of power systems

and transmit power from one station to another stastation.

If V increase then i reduce and then line losses reduced.

2).How many types of electrical substation?

Ans:- Substation is three types

1. Generating Substation 
2. Transmission Substation 
3. Distribution substation

    1).Generating substation :-

This type of sub station install at power generating station and it is step up sub station and to transmit power for long-distance we step up voltage  which reduce current so losses (i^2R) reduced. These are upto 33kV. 

    2).Transmission substation :- 

This type of substation install after generating substation and these are used to transmit power over long distance and this type of substation also step up at one end  and step down  at second end. These are upto 765kV.

   3).Distribution substation :-

This type of sub station install near load center and it is step down substation. These substation step down voltage acording to Costomer requirement. These are mostly 33KV/11KV and 11KV/440V substation.
